It’s a necessity of life that every one of us will grow old. None of us can prevent growing older. While many people from an early age decide to live healthy lives that include of course a healthy diet and lots of exercise, some of them still suffer from age related conditions that can be very hard to prevent or avoid, in many instances the only alternative left is therapy. There is, however, a lot we can do to avoid injury and maintain fitness in order to function properly in our daily lives. Specific well-designed therapy treatment plans can help senior adults and others with geriatric symptoms to recover and regain physical strength and function independently during their golden years.
Geriatric physical therapy is a proven means for older seniors from every level of physical ability to improve their strength, physical fitness, balance and also to build confidence in order for them to function independently. Geriatric physical therapy also plays an important role in improving mobility and overall fitness. All of these are factors which older seniors suffering from Cancer, Arthritis and Alzheimer’s disease may benefit from, contributing to their physical abilities and helping them to maintain their independence for longer periods of time.

My grand parents both suffered from arthritis and alzheimers disease. Geriatric physical therapy helped both of them and increased my grands mobility in particular.
